Property Tax Experience Overview

Kip has more than three decades of experience in representing Ohio taxpayers in complex property tax matters.  His legal practice is dedicated to challenging excessive property tax assessments. He regularly appears before local boards of revision, the Ohio Board of Tax Appeals, appellate courts, and the Supreme Court of Ohio.

Kip guides his clients through every step of the valuation and appeal process, explains their options clearly, and advocates for a fair resolution under the law.  Whether the issues related to a small retail building or a large sports complex, Kip zealously works to achieve practical, cost-effective results.

Representative Experience

Robert K. Danzinger’s experience includes:

  • Advising and providing legal counsel to real property taxpayers across all 88 Ohio counties regarding valuation and assessment issues and appellate procedures.
  • Overseeing and providing advice for national portfolios of real estate while working directly with members of the National Property Tax Group.
  • Challenging county assessments in Ohio’s administrative agencies including county boards of revision and the Ohio Board of Tax Appeals.
  • Providing appellate advocacy before Ohio Courts of Appeals and the Supreme Court of Ohio.
  • Developing strategies and providing legal analysis in defense of School Districts’ attempts to increase valuations.
  • Negotiating strategic and cost-effective resolutions of assessment disputes on behalf of owners, developers, and asset managers of commercial, institutional and income-producing properties.

Recent Speaking Engagements / Authorships

Kip has been a frequent speaker at legal and educational seminars, including programs hosted by the CMBA Real Estate Law Symposium and the Institute for Professionals in Taxation (IPT). He has authored numerous articles on real property taxation and related topics.

Education

Kip earned his undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University in 1989 and his Juris Doctor from the Case Western Reserve University School of Law in 1992.

More About Kip

Throughout his career, Kip has volunteered his time to charitable and philanthropic organizations. He currently serves as President of the Board of JCH, which provides housing and related services to adults with mental illness throughout Northeast Ohio. Previously, he served on the Board of Big Brothers Big Sisters and annually leads fundraising efforts for the American Cancer Society’s Pan Ohio Bike Ride.

Outside the office, Kip enjoys competing in triathlons, mountain biking, golfing, and following Cleveland sports. Most importantly, he enjoys spending time with his family.
