Our experience includes office, industrial, retail, healthcare, multifamily, and special-use properties where valuation requires detailed analysis and disciplined advocacy.
Our Story
In the early 1990s, property tax attorneys Todd W. Sleggs, Robert K. Danzinger, and Steven R. Gill practiced together in a boutique law firm focused on national, state, and local taxation, with a particular emphasis on assisting Ohio property owners in reducing real property tax obligations.
In 1995, the three partners pursued separate careers, each maintaining a focus on taxation. Todd W. Sleggs founded Todd W. Sleggs & Associates, exclusively representing taxpayers in all 88 Ohio counties and earning statewide recognition for his work in property tax litigation. Robert K. Danzinger joined a large Ohio law firm, Schottenstein, Zox & Dunn, where he became an equity partner and a member of the firm’s litigation and real estate sections, representing both national and local taxpayers. Steven R. Gill joined Ernst & Young, where he served for more than a decade and became National Director of Property Tax Services for the firm’s State and Local Tax Practice, gaining extensive experience before tax boards and assessing authorities across the country.
In 2005, Sleggs, Danzinger, and Gill reunited to form Sleggs, Danzinger & Gill, combining their experience and establishing a law firm dedicated exclusively to representing property owners in property tax matters locally, statewide, and nationally.
In 2008, SDG was named the sole Ohio member of the National Property Tax Group. This affiliation expanded the firm’s ability to represent property owners throughout the United States while maintaining its concentrated Ohio practice and local expertise.
